Judge Memorial High School Retaining Wall Forensic Study and Repair
Judge Memorial Catholic High School, Salt Lake Diocese, Salt Lake City, Utah – Forensic evaluation of athletic field MSE Wall failure and drainage system defects included: partial forensic wall de-construction, mediation, project oversight during de-construction and reconstruction of new MSE Wall, athletic field and storm drainage systems.
GCI principals conducted a forensic study of a failing MSE wall at the high school athletic complex. Work included reviewing construction records, interviews, field observations and measurements, a geotechnical field exploration program, and forensic de-construction studies to assess potential failure mechanisms. GCI principals, at the Owner’s request, then represented the Owner as design/construction managers; including a) designer selection, b) contractor selection, c) providing design and construction oversight, d) providing on-site observation, e) conducting weekly construction meetings, f) processing pay requests, and g) monitoring designer Q/A activities.
